100-club doubling of price and prizes - change your standing orders now

HCACR Good news!

The HCACR 200-Club was instigated in 1986 when the original number of subscribers was 100, the subscription was an annual £10, and total prizes of £500 were given out. Since then we have doubled the number of subscribers, doubled the number of prizes and doubled the amount transferred to the Bell Restoration Fund. In the intervening 34 years the value of the prizes has unfortunately become less impressive and the £1000 contribution to the BRF has devalued over the years. The current £10 sub, adjusted for inflation, would be about £29 in today’s money.

At the 2020 Annual General Meeting, held via Zoom on 29 August, it was agreed that it was essential to raise more money for the BRF to enable it to continue to make significant awards for bell restoration projects. Following a vote, the meeting agreed to double the 200-club sub to £20, with prizes also being doubled, with effect from 1 January 2021. Monthly prizes will increase to two of £50. The prizes for the draw at the AGM will be two of £300, and two of £200 at the Kimpton Cup draw. The contribution to the BRF will increase to £2000, enabling more significant awards for bell restoration projects.

This of course means that we have to ask you to double your subscription from January 2021. If you have a standing order, please change it as soon as possible to £20 (other details, including the account name of "100 club", remain the same). If in the past you have paid by cash or cheque it would be a huge help if you could set up a standing order to save administration work and costs. Contact David for bank details.
